Kelly & Heather Hougen.

Kelly and Heather Hougen were both born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada and have lived in the North all their lives. Kelly has been working with northern mountain outfitting businesses since the early 1970's and has been guiding hunters since he was 16 years old.

Heather comes from a large family of professional hunters who have been outfitting and guiding for several generations in the North. Kelly and Heather operate Arctic Red River Outfitters Ltd. as a partnership.

They spend the summer and fall season within their outfitting area with their four children. Kelly is an experienced bush pilot and trapper and also has a B.A. in Geography.

Our guides are hired on their hunting ability, knowledge of wildlife, bush skills, cooking ability and their compatibility with hunters. They are there to provide a good hunt for you in the safest possible manner. We have always promoted the hunt for the whole experience: the great scenery, the camaraderie and the physical challenge of a mountain backpack hunt.
